In pre-school, the first stage in the process of lifelong learning, we seek to provide — through meaningful and diversified learning — the cognitive, psychomotor and socio-affective development of our students, stimulating the awakening of curiosity and critical thinking, the capacities of expression and communication, aesthetic sensitivity and understanding of the world. The aim is to prepare students for a successful and truly-lifelong education.
At Eupheus our Pre-School operate a bi-lingual approach to learning with Portuguese and English first language teachers, alongside highly skilled assistants.
Our youngest children are engaged in active learning led by the British National Curriculum Foundation Stage - EYFS and the Portuguese curriculum.
The Portuguese language is highly valued and an integral part of every school day.
The areas of learning focus on:
- Communication and Language
- Physical Development
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding the World
- Expressive Arts and Design
All of our student’s progress in Pre-School is fully documented. Each child has their own personal and unique Pupil Profile. This is a comprehensive record of their development throughout their time at our school and is continuously updated.
At Eupheus we have an open-door policy, and actively encourage parents/ guardians to engage in their child’s learning. Whether it be interacting with their child’s teacher, observing their daily progress, or praising a newly painted picture.
Our Pre-School is co-ordinated by Educadora Ana Patrícia Cardoso, a highly skilled and experienced qualified Pre-School teacher.
